About The Speakers
Jason Stevens
Is President and CEO of Mitsubishi International Corporation, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, a global enterprise that operates businesses across virtually every industry, including natural resources development, energy, manufacturing of industrial goods, retail, infrastructure, and finance.  Mitsubishi International Corporation engages in the global trading of industrial products and commodities, including chemicals, metals, and petroleum products.

Prior to becoming President and CEO in 2016, Mr. Stevens was Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi International Corporation and a Vice President of its affiliate, Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas), while also serving as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of both companies.  In those roles, he was responsible for the legal and compliance functions of those companies and their affiliates in North America.  Before that, Mr. Stevens had similar responsibilities for Mitsubishi Corporation group companies in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa while based in London, and also worked for the Legal Division of Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo. Jason Stevens received an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law.

Jeremy Amias
Jeremy began his career with Salomon Brothers in London in 1984, where he joined the fixed income sales team. In 1992 he was to become the youngest ever International Salomon Brothers Managing Director following a period managing international fixed income investor sales in New York. During the late 1990s, when the Smith Barney, Citibank, Nikko and Schroders fixed income sales teams merged under Citigroup, Jeremy continued to retain the role of head of fixed income investor sales for Citigroup Global Markets. In 2002, Jeremy transferred to Hong Kong to head both European and Asian fixed income investor sales for Citigroup. He was later named Head of FICC (fixed income, currencies and commodities) for Sales, Trading, Origination and Research, for the Asia Pacific region within Citigroup, where he managed a business of 950 employees in 20 offices and 17 countries. In Asia he brought together a widely diverse group of individuals, countries, and businesses and took Citigroup to a market leading position in FICC in the region. In 2007 Jeremy was appointed Chief Operating Officer – Finance at Noble Group, Asia’s largest diversified commodities trading company. Here he oversaw all aspects of Finance, Treasury, Risk and Capital Raising for this growing company. In 2009 he co-founded Amias Berman & Co, a Fixed Income agency broker with offices in London and Hong Kong. It pioneered the first anonymous client-to-client fixed income trading system and is enjoying continued success. After a stake was sold to Marex Spectron – the world’s largest privately held Commodity Broker – in 2011, Jeremy became Chief Executive Officer for Marex Spectron in Asia Pacific.

Jeremy joined Standard Chartered Bank in March 2013 as Global Head of Investor Client Coverage and was appointed as Head of Investors and Public Sector in September 2013. From 2015-2017 he was Global Head of Financial Institutions. In March 2017, he was named Co-Head – Global Banking, Americas. In May 2019 he was appointed Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Americas.

Ms. Anla Cheng is the Founder and CEO of SupChina, an independent digital China news, business, events, consulting marketplace platform and podcasts with social media/website. Her career began at Goldman Sachs, then Citi where she was a Pacific Basin analyst, then became an Asian Portfolio Manager for both Institutional and Private Wealth Group. Ms. Cheng received her MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business. She is a Trustee of the following Boards: Vice-Chair of China/US at TNC (The Nature Conservancy); Facing History and Ourselves(past Chair of China Project); Vice-Chair at China Institute; and past Trustee and current member of Committee 100. Ms. Cheng is also China/ Global Council Member of Brookings and a Member of NCUSCR . SupChina/Sinica (podcasts) have received multiple awards from Asia Society; the New York Chinese Cultural Center; Ascend; and The Chinese Cultural Foundation.
