If so, then join Christopher Marquis, Cornell professor and host of the China Corner Office Podcast, for a live Webinar recording featuring guests Wayne Silby and Peiyuan Guo. Silby founded ESG investing pioneer Calvert in 1976 and has been actively involved in shaping the ESG investing landscape in China for over a decade with Guo, as founders of Beijing-based sustainability consulting and investing firm SynTao. On March 4, they will sit down to discuss these topics and more about how global trends in ESG investing are affecting China as it strives to be carbon neutral by 2060.
Mr. Silby is Chairman and co-founder of SynTao. He is founding Chairman of Calvert Funds, a $14 billion investment management group noted for their leadership in the area of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI). Furthermore, Mr. Silby serves as President of Calvert Social Investment Fund, supervising its private equity activities, and as Co-Chair of Calvert Foundation, a $200m investment intermediary that directs capital into needy communities.
Dr. Guo Peiyuan
Dr. Guo Peiyuan is the Chairman of SynTao Green Finance and co-founder and General Manager of SynTao. As one of China’s renowned experts in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), he has been closely involved in responsible management development.
Chris Marquis is the Samuel C. Johnson Professor in Sustainable Global Enterprise and Professor of Management at the Cornell University Johnson College of Business. Prior to joining Cornell, he worked for 10 years at Harvard Business School and has held visiting professorships at Harvard Kennedy School, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Fudan University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University. Marquis’ current teaching and research examines how the interaction between corporations, governments and civil society lead to socially and environmentally beneficial outcomes, with a particular focus on China. He received a PhD in sociology and business administration from the University of Michigan.
